Closing a position refers to an investor closing or liquidating their held cryptocurrency contract positions. Investors can close their previous positions by selling or buying the same amount of cryptocurrency.
The purpose of closing a position is to realize profits or reduce losses. If an investor chose to go long when opening the position and the market price rises, they can close the position by selling at the right time to gain profit. Conversely, if a trader predicts the market price will fall, they can choose to buy the same amount of cryptocurrency to close the position and earn the price difference.
Below are three methods for closing positions:
Method 1: Closing Positions via the Order Section
When opening a position, choose a limit order.
Set the Price and Quantity.
Click Sell or Buy (depending on your position direction) to submit the order.
Wait for the order to be filled; once filled, the position is closed.
Note:
The order quantity must not exceed the current position quantity.
If the order quantity exceeds the position quantity, after the order is filled, it will create a new position in the opposite direction; that is, a long position will turn into a short position, and a short position will turn into a long position.
Method 2: Closing Positions via the Position Section
Market Price Close:
On the Current Positions page, click Close Position.
Select Market Price as the closing method; the system will close the position at the current market price.
Click Confirm, and the system will immediately close the position at the best available market price. After the operation is complete, the position will be closed.
Limit Price Close:
On the Current Positions page, click Close Position.
Switch to Limit Price, set your desired Price and Quantity for closing.
Click Confirm to submit a limit order, then wait for the order to be filled at the set price. Once filled, the position is closed.
Method 3: Using One-Click Close or Take Profit/Stop Loss
On the contract trading interface, use the One-Click Close or enable the Take Profit/Stop Loss feature.
The system will automatically execute an auction-style closing strategy.
